Conventional asphalts
Conventional asphalt types implemented by Sintra satisfy all standards of public organizations. Whether they’re dedicated to concrete batches or continuously tweaking production for varying needs, all of our plants are able to manufacture products in compliance with Canada’s and Quebec’s requirements, quality-controlled by our own labs located in relevant administrative regions of the province.
Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP)
Sintra promotes the use of recycled products of various asphalt types as long as performance is maintained. Recycled bituminous aggregates are materials derived from crushed asphalt, which is itself derived from the produce of road drags or asphalt plates taken from various excavation sites. That crushed material is reintroduced in traditional asphalt in order to lessen our environmental footprint.
Ecomat (Warm-Mix Asphalt)
Ecomat is a technology allowing a reduction, from 20 to 40°C, of the asphalt temperature of traditional mixes. Thanks to this significant lowering of temperature, the energy required for production is itself lowered from 15 to 20 %. Greenhouse gas emissions can be lowered from 4,0 to 5,5 kg in equivalent CO2 by tonne of produced asphalt. The manufacturing and implementation of those mixes are the same as that of a traditional mix, and keep the same properties.
